The warranty on a new Volvo does not require an authorized dealership. When maintenance is performed according to the manufacturer’s schedule and recorded in the service history, the warranty stays in effect. We retrieve the Volvo service schedule specifically for your car, so the checklist is the same as at an authorized shop.
The right to have your car serviced somewhere other than a dealership is based on EU competition rules, the so-called Block Exemption Regulation. The manufacturer cannot require that periodic maintenance be done within its own network, as long as the service is performed according to instructions. This is why the service entry is important: it is proof that everything was done as it should be.
