Two sets of tires don’t fit in everyone’s hallway. In our tire hotel, your tires wait for the next season, and they are already ready on the day of the swap. Before storage, the tires are washed and their condition is checked, so you’ll know well in advance if they’ll last another season.

Winter tires are mandatory from the beginning of December to the end of February. Studded tires may be used from the beginning of November to the end of March, or longer if the weather requires it. In practice, in Central Finland, it’s worth changing to winter tires as early as October, before the first slippery mornings.

3 mm / 1.6 mmlegal minimum tread depth winter / summer
The law requires a minimum tread depth of 3 millimeters for winter tires and 1.6 millimeters for summer tires. However, grip weakens long before that, especially in slush and on wet asphalt.
We measure the tread depth at every swap and tell you directly if the tires will last for the next season.
The workshop is in Palokka, at Varastotie 4 D. It’s about 7 kilometers from Jyväskylä city center, 11 from Vaajakoski, and 17 from Tikkakoski. Without traffic, the drive from the center takes a good ten minutes.

Winter tires are mandatory from the beginning of December to the end of February, and studs may be used from the beginning of November to the end of March. In Central Finland, it's worth changing to winter tires as early as October, before the first slippery mornings. Summer tires are usually swapped in April–May, once the night frosts are over.
In Finland, the tread depth for winter tires must be at least 3 mm and for summer tires at least 1.6 mm. Grip weakens significantly even before these limits, so it's worth replacing winter tires at around 4–5 millimeters at the latest.
In most passenger cars, wheel bolts are tightened to 100–140 Newton meters. The exact value is in your car's manual. It's worth checking the tightness with a torque wrench after 50–100 kilometers of driving, as the mounting can settle.
